Joo Hi Hoon joins the military to avoid drug charges

July 21st, 2010 § 0

Joo Ji Hoon, the model and actor who starred in Princess Hours as Crown Prince Lee Shin, has successfully avoided his sentence of one year probation and 120 hours of community service for drug charges by attending the military – so far.

Being found with narcotics is a huge crime in countries like Korea and Japan.  People are almost always thrown into prison and face heavy fines.  But not for the good-looking and popular Joo Ji Hoon.  He decided to join the military and lay low under the public spotlight to try to escape his judgment.

He joined the military in February of 2010 and he will stay for two years.  I wonder what’s better, serving the military or going to jail?  The worst case would be that immediately after he is done with his service he would have to go to jail.

Korean U-Kiss

When the members of Korean boy band U-Kiss were asked whether they preferred natural beauty or plastic surgery when it comes to choosing women, Soo Hyun, Kevin, Dong Ho, and Alexander voted for natural beauty.

The rest of the members – Eli, Ki Bum, and Ki Seop said that plastic surgery was a way to enhance oneself and that it shouldn’t be ruled out.

“I don’t want a baby that looks so different from the mother”, said Alexander.  In response to this Ki Bum torted “If they don’t look like the mother, they can get plastic surgery too”.

Shin Bong Sun and Kim Jae Dong are dating?

July 3rd, 2010 § 0

It started on Twitter and spread like wildfire throughout the rest of the KPOP community.

MC and TV personality Kim Jae Dong wrote on his twitter status that he would ‘like to introduce us to his new girlfriend’, and it was a picture of Shin Bong Sun with her arms around him!

But that wasn’t all.  Soon after Shin Bong Sun updated her status as well, saying that she would like to introduce us to her ‘new boyfriend; my sweetheart that says my thighs are the thinnest in the world.’

When we thought that would be it, they surprised us again.

Jae-Dong featured another picture with the caption as ‘should I wake the sleeping princess in the forest?’ and it was a photo of him next to Bong-Sun as she was sleeping.

So far it’s fair to say that they’re just playing around and having fun.  But who knows, there’s always a chance that there could be more to this story than what it appears to be.

The Wonder Girls come to Seattle and blow everyone away

July 1st, 2010 § 0

Before they were openers for the Jonas Brothers, but now this time they are the stars!

The Wonder Girls were met with screaming fans July 30th at their concert at Moore Theatre in Seattle.

Hundreds of people gathered with big signs proclaiming, “We love you, Wonder Girls!”, and “We want nobody but you!”.  There was so much shouting and excitement that it was difficult to even hear the person next to you speaking.

The majority of the fans were students, who wore bright neon glow necklaces and accessories, pushing to get as close to the stage as possible and yelling in Korean.  There was a huge advertising campaign all throughout the International District of Chinatown before the event, their poster could be seen at every teen hangout spot and cafe.

The last time the Wonder Girls performed in Seattle, they were openers for the Jonas Brothers, but this time they were the headliners.  They blew the crowd away with their famous hits “Nobody”, “Tell Me”, and covers like “Boom Boom Pow” from the Black Eyed Peas and Destiny Child’s “Survivor”.

The concert was almost canceled because of the recent death of Sun’s father.  The shows in Hawaii were canceled, but they were still able to perform in Vancouver and Seattle.

The girls will now be heading towards California and the Midwest.
